Popovic’s FLEX Fleye

Popovic’s FLEX Fleye

I just realised that almost every fly in my “big fly box” looks like Popovic’s FLEX Fleye. It’s a small baitfish pattern and I’m pretty sure pike, zander, perch and any other saltwater fish wouldn’t resist it. I love how simple but effective this fly is.

Lomo Pike Fly

Lomo Pike Fly

It’s been a while since I posted something on my blog. Well I guess it’s because of winter depression and all. But I promise I’ll post some flies, if nothing else, more often now. Pike fishing season starts on 1st of April here so until then I will post some flies and maybe fish for some trout and chub.

Wobble Fly

Wobble Fly

Wobble fly was created by Martie van den Brand and it’s definitely going to find it’s place in my fly box. Fishing with wobblers can sometimes be much more effective than fishing with streamer flies. Weed Guards

Weed Guards

Weed is one of the easiest places to locate pike in the summer. But it’s not that easy to fish with just any regular streamer in weed. There are numerous ways to protect your hook from weed. You can even buy weedless hooks on market but I prefer to use my own weed guards. Here are a few simple ways to protect your hook using hard mono.

Pink Pike Candy

Pink Pike Candy

It was a great day yesterday but it seems it’s still early for big pike to wake up. Waters are still muddy and water level is still effected by melting snow and rain. All I can do is prepare for better days and tie some bigger flies.

I blame Sebastian, Zvezdan and the crew from musicarenje forums for this one. I caught myself looking for synthetic materials around the house and trying to comb them. :)
